Partial Reno Kitchen

  • Lacking upper cabinets
  • Pantry too small and narrow
  • Backsplash not complete

  • A large second pantry added where a door to the garage used to be.
  • Upper cabinets installed in a gray that has a greenish tone to it.:)
  • Subway tile added to the entire wall on one side and under the cabinets of the other wall.
  • Center island moved to the horizontal direction. (The perks of a portable island.)

Decor is still needed, but Im super happy with what we chose to do.

Entryway Complete

After two months, I have one area of my new house finished. The entryway.

I had to buy the credenza, but everything else we had. The mirror used to be in the dining room of our previous home. I think it ended up looking even better.

I’ve been doing a lot of online shopping and the white vase was a BIG surprise literally. I didn’t realize the size of it, but I’m now grateful. My soon-to-be in the garbage burgundy palm leaves now have a home.

Sr. Elizondo hung the tea towel I originally had framed for the kitchen here. Good job babe.

And just because, here’s a pic of today’s sky from my balcony.

Easy Delicious

Stuffed portabello mushroom with garlic herb butter

Portabello Stuffed Mushroom

  • 6-8 Portabello mushrooms, de-gilled and cleaned with a damp paper towel
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 3/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 scallion chopped
  • 1 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • grape or roma tomatos

Preheat oven to high heat with rack in the center

Combine butter, garlic, oregano and put in microwave or on stovetop until melted. Brush outside of mushroom caps with mixture and place on baking sheet.

Mix breadcrumbs, parsley, scallion, salt and pepper together, then pour in the remaining butter mixture and combine.

Spoon breadcrumb mixture into the mushroom caps, slice tomato on top. You can also sprinkle with parmesan (optional).

A Space that Speaks

There’s something about this little room that I love.

Maybe it’s because it’s completely open…

Or has bright views…

Or because my favorite angel is watching over it…

It’s still a work in progress, but I love it all the same.

A New View

We’ve been in our new home for about one month. Sadly, we said goodbye to these views of skies and mountains…

and said hello to these…

They’re not as spectacular, but it was a worthy swap for this…

A backyard for a future pool.

Morning Visitors

Nothing’s better than walking out on your porch to see some other early risers.

This cute little kitty comes often to our front and backyard. This morning she decided our front door was a good place to start her day.

She spotted me watching her through the window and decided to move on.

Then I saw this guy. From the looks of him, it seems our yard is keeping him pretty healthy. He is huge!
